The Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers has released its Spring 2009 issue of the Nebraska Sheep & Goat newsletter. Inside, you’ll read the latest updates from the Nebraska sheep and goat industries, an introduction to special program to give producers a premium on their wool, an article on the plans to create a national goat council, a recipe and kids craft, and more. The feature article is on the threat that the Animal Welfare Movement poses to commercial goat and sheep producers. This issue comes with a new look. Also, members receive a color, print newsletter.

 

Mark Your Calendars for the 2009 State Convention

The Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers is teaming up with the Nebraska Dairy Goat Association for a joint state convention later this year. Mark your calendar for October 9-10 at the Heritage Inn in Wahoo, Nebraska . We’re anticipating a balance of interesting speakers on the sheep and goat industries, including Doris Uphoff on meat goats, Amy Jeanroy on using herbal treatments with her goats, Ross Baker on the National Animal Identification System, and others.
