To fellow sheep and goat producers of Nebraska,

You need this organization.

1) It is the only statewide organization, which represents the interests of small ruminant producers.

2) It represents your interests to various state agencies and institutions. We are now negotiating to keep reason in the state's proposed Scrapie regulations. These regulations carry the force of law, but are not voted upon by any elected official.

3) It projects your voice at the national level through the American Sheep Industry Association. Thanks to the activities of NS&GP and ASI, Nebraska's small ruminant producers have received over $2.8 million dollars in direct government payments since 1999.

This organization needs you.

1) It is funded and supported by voluntary memberships and a voluntary wool check-off collected by Mid-States Wool Growers and Groenewold Fur and Wool.

2) These funds are necessary to pay for mailings like this one. They are also needed to pay dues to the American Sheep Industry Association and other livestock organizations.

3) These funds are important. However, what is most important is your name and support. Institutions and government agencies are not responsive to individuals. They respond best to an organization. The more individuals represented by the organization, the better the response.

Mostly, this organization needs your name and your support.
