Why We Need You
The Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers pays yearly dues to the American Sheep Industry to represent all of the state’s farms and operations. However, it is only through the annual memberships of producers and agribusinesses that NS&GP is able to continue our affiliation with the American Sheep Industry and national meat and dairy goat industry associations. Without these affiliations, the Nebraska sheep and goat producers would lose their ability to influence state and federal policymaking, marketing, and other aspects of these industries.
There are two ways producers, agribusineses, and other supporters of the Nebraska sheep and goat industries can become involved with the NS&GP:
Become an Associate – $15/year
Benefits include:
- A color copy of the Nebraska Sheep & Goat, the state association’s quarterly publications – with 6 pages of bonus articles regarding sheep and goat marketing and management in the new “Production Notes” section, available to associates and members only
- Free access to a listserv to keep up-to-date on news and information affecting the Nebraska sheep and goat industries
Become a Member – $45/year ($20/year for youth)
Benefits include:
- Full voting privileges at state meetings, including the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors or on project committees
- A color copy of the Nebraska Sheep & Goat, the state association’s quarterly publication – with 6 pages of bonus articles regarding sheep and goat marketing and management in the new “Production Notes” section, available to members and associates only
- Free advertising through the Classifieds both in the newsletter and on the website
- Free listings through the Wanted ads
- Free access to a listserv to keep up-to-date on news and information affecting the Nebraska sheep and goat industries
- Free subscription to the print Sheep Industry News, the monthly magazine of the American Sheep Industry, included as part of your free membership to this national association
- Discounted fee to the annual Nebraska Sheep & Goat Conference (read a recap of the 2009 event, or look ahead to the 2010 conference)
- Discounted rates on additional advertising opportunities in the newsletter, e-newsletter, and on the website
- Opportunities to participate in other developing local and state programs to benefit Nebraska’s sheep and goat industries
- Opportunities to write articles for the newsletter or to be selected for a special producer/agribusiness feature
