2012 Nebraska Sheep & Goat Conference
Plans for speakers, demonstrations, and tours are in the works. This year, the conference will be held at Wahoo and Mead in Eastern Nebraska on November 2-3. It will be a joint meeting with the Nebraska Sheep & Goat Producers and the Nebraska Dairy Goat Association. The newsletter will have more information as it becomes available.
Seeking: Board Member
There is an open position on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Sheep & Goat Producers in the Western District. Candidates must live in the Nebraska Panhandle, and will need to become a voting member ($45 per year) of the Nebraska Sheep & Goat Producers. The position has a three-year term. 2011 Annual Meeting
The 2011 annual meeting was held during the 4S Goat Expo in Lexington, Nebraska, in early October. The full minutes of the weekend are available here, but some of the highlights include:
- The NS&GP voted to join the We Support Ag effort, a coalition of Nebraska agricultural groups banding together in opposition of the anti-agricultural animal welfare movement led by such groups as the Humane Society of the United States.
- The NS&GP is donating $1,600 toward the Nebraska Make It With Wool contest, which promotes the use of wool.
